What is the process for checking in for a Singapore Airlines flight?

Singapore Airlines check-in is available in several ways:

  • Online check-in
  • Mobile app for check-in (Android or iOS).
  • Auto check-in
  • Self-service kiosk for check-in
  • Airport counter check-in

What is the check-in time for my Singapore Airlines flight?

Singapore Changi Airport offers counter check-in 48 hours before departure time and up to 40 minutes before departure time.

Please check with Singapore Airlines’ local offices for specific deadlines if your flight departs from another airport. These deadlines is usually between 40 and 60 minutes before the scheduled departure time.

Online check-in for Singapore Airlines

  • To ensure flyers are not delayed or hasty during web check-in, Singapore Airlines offers an online check-in option. You can easily access the Singapore Airlines web check-in option on your computer or mobile phone. It must be completed between 48 hours and 1.5 hours before the scheduled flight departure. 
  • Alternatively, you can do it without a login ID by visiting Singapore Airlines’ official website and logging into your registered account. 
  • Click on the check-in tab after logging in and select how you want to check in. It depends on the booking reference or e-ticket number.
  • In the next step, you can retrieve your ticket. Once that is complete, you can pay for your luggage (if you have extra luggage) and choose your seat. 
  • After successful payment, you can access your boarding pass. You can either save it on your phone or print it out. You can also collect your boarding pass from a self-service kiosk or check-in counter.

Passengers are not eligible for online check-in if they: 

  • Travel on Singapore Airlines’ unaccompanied minor service.
  • Singapore Airlines’ pet policy provides information for passengers traveling with service animals.
  • Wheelchairs or other special assistance services for passengers.
  • Groups of nine people traveling on the same route. 

What is Singapore Airlines’ mobile check-in process?

  • Mobile check-in time is the same as online check-in time. 
  • Singapore Airlines has created a comprehensive guide on how to check in using their mobile app – 
  • Simply refer to the “My Trips” section of the mobile app.
  • Choose the specific flight you want to check in for if you have multiple flights in “My Trips.”. 
  • Click “Check-in now” to begin the Singapore Airlines check-in process. 
  • Click “Edit”, make any necessary changes, and tap “Save” to return to the summary page if any passenger details are missing or need updating.
  • Click “Check-in” after all checkboxes have been ticked.
  • Changing your seat is also possible by tapping on “Edit” next to your current seat number, selecting a new seat, and tapping “Done”. 
  • Tap “View Boarding Pass” to get a Singapore Airlines mobile boarding pass.
  • Review the board process before finalizing. Tick the checkboxes and click “Proceed”.
  • Tap “Generate Baggage Tag” now to declare your luggage. 

Check-in at the airport

When you go for the check-in process at the airport, make sure you catch the timing starting from 2 or 3 hours before flight departure and follow the airline’s regulations systematically. If you are going to start your flight journey, make sure you go to the counter and request a boarding pass. You can also check-in baggage, go through security screening, and get to your departure gate in time.

Auto-check-in on Singapore Airlines

In this method, you will automatically be checked in 48 hours before your flight leaves. This makes it one of the easiest ways to check in for Singapore Airlines flights. You will receive an email confirmation of your check-in once you turn on the auto-check-in option. After completing the entire process, you will automatically be checked in. Up to 48 hours before your flight’s scheduled departure time, you can enable auto check-in via Manage Booking after your reservation is confirmed.

Turn on the automatic check-in option:- Once you turn on the Singapore Airlines automatic check-in option, it will allow you to manage your booking and check-in quickly. The option is available 48 hours before flight departure, and you can select seats, change meal options, prepurchase baggage, and upgrade with Singapore Airlines.

If your automatic check-in is complete, you can manage your check-in online up to 1.5 hours before flight departure. After that, you can have your digital boarding pass emailed to you, or even change seats. 

Those who cannot use auto-check-in:- The Singapore Airlines auto check in option is not available to minors traveling alone, groups, passengers on the waitlist without a confirmed reservation, passengers who have reserved extra seats, or passengers who have not checked in for prior flights in the same booking.

Check-in kiosks for Singapore Airlines?

The Singapore Airlines kiosk is available between 4 hours and 50 minutes before scheduled departure. Follow these steps for hassle-free check-in: 

  • Select the SIA logo to begin the Singapore Airlines check-in process at the kiosk.
  • To generate your boarding pass, select “Get Boarding Pass”.
  • Tap ‘Get Bag Tag’ if you have already generated the boarding pass through an online or mobile app.
  • Make sure the photo page of your passport faces downward when scanning.    
  • Enter your six-character booking reference to retrieve your booking, or enter your destination airport to search for your flight. 
  • Please indicate the number of bags you will check-in. 
  • Identify the appropriate boarding process and review it.   
  • Click “Continue” after providing your contact information.
  • From the kiosk, you can collect your printed boarding pass and bag tags.     
  • Drop your bags off at the automated bag drop machine or at the bag drop assistance counter. 
  • Singapore Airlines check-in time (cut-off) will be 60 minutes before flight departure for flights departing from Changi International Airport.
